What we process

Files Online processes data only within your browser:

• Files you open — processed entirely in your browser's memory. They are never uploaded to any server.
• Recipes and settings — stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device.
• No analytics, no tracking scripts, no cookies.
• No personal data is collected or stored by us.

Local storage

The app may use the following browser storage mechanisms:

• IndexedDB — to store saved recipes and preferences. This data is local to your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.
• Cache Storage — to cache app assets for offline use, managed by the service worker.

Both can be cleared at any time via your browser settings (typically under Site Data or Storage for this site).

Third-party libraries

The app loads certain libraries from a CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net) to support features such as archive extraction and document preview. These network requests may be logged by jsDelivr in accordance with their own privacy policy.

If you require full local operation without any external requests, you can self-host the vendor files. See the GitHub repository for instructions and the included download script.

Hosting

Files Online is hosted as a static site. The hosting provider (e.g., GitHub Pages) may collect standard web server access logs — including IP address, browser type, and request timestamp — in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not control or process this data.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights regarding any personal data processed about you — including the right of access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.
